A fire crew from Burnham-On-Sea carried out one of their most bizarre rescues of the year so far when they helped free a trapped baby seagull on Sunday (June 20th).

One fire engine from Burnham was sent to Poplar Estate in Highbridge at 4.30pm to rescue the bird, which had become trapped behind a gas fire inside a property.

The crew removed the fire to release the distressed bird and the owners then contacted East Huntspill’s Secret World wildlife rescue centre to collect it.
