The quick actions of staff at Sedgemoor Services, near Burnham-On-Sea, have been praised this week after they put out a car fire.

A Burnham-On-Sea fire crew rushed to the service station on the southbound carriageway of the M5 on Sunday, as pictured, to reports of a blaze under the car’s bonnet, but instead they found it had already been put out.

“The staff had come to the help of the motorist with a fire extinguisher. Without their help, it could have quickly spread and been more serious,” fire spokesman Paul Slavin told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
