Two shops close down in Burnham-On-Sea High Street

-

Two shops in the centre of Burnham-On-Sea have pulled down their shutters for the final time this month.

Choice Clothing and Eve in the High Street have both closed after struggling during the difficult economic climate.

Chamber of Trade Chairman Rhonda Mills told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It’s a great shame to see any business go. On the whole, though, Burnham High Street has fortunately been fairly resilient during the recession.”

“Local people who have not visited the town recently might like to come to Burnham this Saturday and look at the range of shops on offer. Most of the shops are independent and offer a wide range to the discerning shopper, from items available elsewhere to the unique.”

“Why not explore the High Street, the side streets between Oxford Street and The Esplanade, right down to Victoria Street. Then, after a bite to eat, join us in Victoria Street for the Christmas lights switch-on from 3-5pm where we will be celebrating the talents of our young people.”
