Calm weather leads to build-up of smog over Bristol Channel

-

A photographer on Burnham seafront was shocked to take these snaps of a thick smog drifting over the Bristol Channel on Sunday afternoon (February 21st).

Calm weather led to the thick brown haze hovering along the South Wales coastline, stretching for several miles, as pictured below.

Jim Knight, a regular Burnham-On-Sea.com reader and keen photographer, said: “I was quite shocked to see such a sight stretching from the chimney stacks at Aberthaw in South Wales over Barry, Penarth and across to Weston-super-Mare – quite some distance. Presumably, the weather conditions were ‘just right’ for this to develop today.”
