Warning issued as snow and ice create slippery conditions

Motorists and pedestrians in Burnham-On-Sea have been warned to take extra care on icy roads this morning (Saturday, November 27th).

Police have urged motorists to travel carefully in the Burnham area, after sleet and snow fell for two hours on Friday evening, then melted and froze.

A severe weather warning was issued by the Met Office on Friday night for the whole of Somerset, stating: "Following the clearance of rain and snow, widespread icy stretches are expected on untreated surfaces overnight."

More wintry weather is forecast for the next few days.
