Burnham-On-Sea blanketed by fresh downfall of snow

-

Burnham-On-Sea was covered in a blanket of snow this morning (Tuesday, November 30th) as the wintry weather continued.

A quarter of an inch of snow fell during the early hours of the day, covering streets and pavements.

Burnham’s beach was also covered in the white stuff, with the town’s lighthouse barely visible through the gloom.

Forecasters say the maximum temperature in Burnham today will be a chilly 3°C. Outbreaks of snow will gradually die away, to be followed by a widespread hard frost tonight when temperatures will plunge to a low of -4°C. Further snow is expected over the next few days.

Police warned motorists to take extra care in the slippery conditions and also issued a warning drivers not to leave their cars unattended while they are defrosting them after a car was stolen.
