Four charities
benefit from Burnham club's sponsored swim

Hundreds
of pounds was handed over to several local charities this week
following a succesful fundraising swim by members of Burnham-On-Sea
Swimming Club.
Sixty
youngsters took part in the sponsored swim at Burnham Swim and
Sports Academy in Berrow Road, with half of the proceeds going
to the club and the remainder shared by four charities chosen
by the swimmers.
A
toral of £1,106.34 was raised, with Burnham Swimming Club
receiving £553.17, Secret World getting £204, BARB
receiving £105.50, Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance getting
£172.42 and Scope £71.25.
The
donations were handed over during a short presentation ceremony
on Thursday evening (15th July). Those present included the top
fundraisers from the club, Somerset ASA President Peter Gonsalves,
Secret World's Pauline Kidner, BARB's Roger Flower, Dorset and
Somerset Air Ambulance's Nick Pearce.
