‘Spontaneous and exuberant’ group to play in Burnham-On-Sea

-

A night of ‘spontaneous and exuberant’ entertainment is promised when a popular band performs in Burnham-On-Sea this Saturday evening (September 11th).

The Carnival Band, who often feature on BBC Radio 2 and have also been played on BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM, are renowned for turning musical convention
on its head.

They comprise two leading talents from the UK early music scene, a former London Symphony Orchestra violinist turned drummer, a rock guitarist and a dynamic bassist. Their performances feature over 20 instruments and full vocal harmony.

St Andrew’s Church in Victoria Street will host Saturday evening’s concert with the backing band of Maddie Prior, one time member of Steeleye Span.

“Some tickets are still available from GC Music in College Street or on the door on Saturday night, priced at £10 each. That’s a bargain for an evening of brilliant music and fun. Come along and be blown away by the five musicians playing a variety of 30 instruments,” Rev Graham Witts told Burnham-On-Sea.com. The event starts at 7.30pm.
