The work of Burnham-On-Sea artist Tim Smith has gone on display at a town art gallery this week.

Born in Bridgwater and now living in Burnham, Tim enjoys painting local landscapes, and his work includes scenes of Brent Knoll, the Mendips and the Quantocks. He also paints townscapes and buildings around Burnham and Highbridge.

He is exhibiting a selection of paintings at Sea Breeze in Victoria Street throughout this month.

One room is devoted to
local Somerset scenes and another to a variety of locations. The paintings are predominantly in watercolour, but he also uses oils, acrylics, pastels, plus pen and ink.

“In addition to beautiful scenes, Tim enjoys painting flora and fauna and has received various commissions to paint pictures of people’s homes, pets and even a friend’s beloved mini!” Sea Breeze’s Vicky Mills told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“Tim admires the work of the old masters like Monet and says he can especially identify with the words of famous artist Gording Benningfield who once said ‘Above all, it is the ordinary things that move me most.'”

The free entry exhibition runs until Saturday 31st July. Opening hours are 10am until 5.30pm Monday to Friday, except Wednesday (early closing at 2pm), with Saturday 10am until 5pm.
