-

Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge’s Mayor was the VIP guest at a special event to celebrate the 10th anniversary of a popular group this week.

Cllr Michael Clarke opened Monday’s event to mark Highbridge University of the Third Age’s 10th birthday.

“Dozens of the U3A’s members joined the Mayor in the Community Hall to mark the milestone and it was a fun afternoon,” one of the members, Pam Lyes, told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

The group, which has more than 170 members, holds well-supported weekly coffee mornings and trips to places of local interest. Its members also enjoy board games, card making, history talks, floral art demonstrations, keep fit, skittles and more.
