Highbridge school students get a taste of university life

A group of Year 12 students at Highbridge's King Alfred School got a taste of university life when they visited Cardiff University last week.

The students toured the university accommodation and facilities to get a flavour of independent living and they were impressed with what they found.

"The student union was a magnet for them and the students were given talks on finance, the entry process and general life at university," Jonathan Gaskell, Head of Sixth Form at King Alfred School, told

"Others enjoyed a snapshot of academic life by choosing short lectures on their favourite subjects, with 'Inside the Mind of a Psychopath' presented by the Department of Psychology proving so popular that the students queued around the block and not all could fit in the lecture theatre!"
