Dozens of mourners, including current and past Mayors, paid their last respects to a popular former Burnham-On-Sea vicar on Thursday afternoon (February 4th).

Raymond Dean, who was vicar of St Andrew’s Church from 1970-1993, passed away last month and a thanksgiving service was held in his memory on Thursday.

The church’s current vicar, Reverend Graham Witts, led the special service at a packed St Andrew’s, where readings were given by Tim, Hannah and Andrew Dean, followed by an address by Reverend Mark Ellis.

Tributes came from family, friends and colleagues. A collection was taken at the end of the service in aid of The Treloar Trust.

Raymond Dean retired to Berrow in 1993 and leaves his wife Gwen and three sons.

The order of service for Rev Dean is pictured above.
