Double delight for Watchfield Show’s organiser!

-

The organiser of Watchfield’s annual show had two reasons to celebrate when the annual event was held near Highbridge on Saturday (September 4th).

For not only did the event see a near record number of entries, but the judges also awarded Mary Chalker, pictured above, two of the top trophies for her own entries!

“I was surprised and very pleased to win both the Rose Bowl and Chairman’s Choice trophy for my flowers!” she told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“It was a superb day – we had a very good turnout of entries. There were 290 in all, which was up 20 from last year. There also was a steady number of visitors throughout the afternoon.”

She added: “The judges were impressed with the overall quality and said the standard of thye cookery classes in particular was superb.”

The event was held in Watchfield Village Hall near Highbridge.
