Artistic
skills on display at new Burnham-On-Sea Woodturning Club

A
new club aimed at woodturning enthusiasts is being launched in
Burnham-On-Sea this month.
George
Foweraker and John Brewer, pictured, are starting the new Burnham-On-Sea
Woodturning Club to raise the profile of the hobby locally and
help people get started.
Members
will be able to develop their woodturning skills and knowledge
by attending monthly meetings which will feature practical, hands-on
sessions.
John
told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "Topics to be covered will include
health and safety, the use of tools and wood technology, plus
how to develop creative and artistic turning."
"Our
first meeting will be held on April 27th and will be opened by
internationally renowned woodturner Mark Sanger, who will be demonstrating
how he produces one of his signature lidded forms."
Meetings
are to be held on the last Tuesday of every month at Burnham Community
Hall in Berrow Road next to the swimming pool.
A
meeting is scheduled to be held on the 30th of March to sign up
new members to the club when newcomers will be welcome. Membership
is open to anyone over the age of 14, however junior members must
be accompanied by a responsible adult.
