A wide range of entertainment for young people in Burnham-On-Sea is being lined up at the town’s second annual youth festival today (Sunday, July 4th).

The second festival will get underway at 12 noon and run until 7pm. It is being overseen by Burnham’s Youth Town Council in association with Burnham Lions Club.

“This year’s event should be bigger and better with a wide range of things to do and see,” said Cllr Peter Burridge-Clayton, who is among the organising team.

The festival will include live music throughout the afternoon from Burnham bands, including Busy Backgrounds. There will also be a chance for youngsters to have a go themselves with a pro karaoke system.

The aftermoon will also include circus skills displays, free running displays, jujitsu workshops, plus Air, Sea and Army demonstrations, a climbing tower, plus rowing and fitness tests from the King Alfred Sports Centre team in addition to a bouncy castle and a barbecue.

Other groups confirmed so far are The Shed Youth Café, who will be offering high-tech games and entertainment, plus Dreamscheme, Burnham Lions, The Bay Dancers, BARB and the Nathan Edwards Tennis Academy.

“There will also be stalls and displays with information pertinent for young people. It’s not too late to get involved if you have ideas for a stall or activity,” added Peter.
