Air cadets from Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge's 290 Squadron
took to the skies this week during a visit to Colerne Airfield
The cadets - aged between 14 and 17 - had the opportunity to
take the controls of the RAF's primary training aircraft.
learned how easy it is to fly as well experiencing the thrill
of aerobatics, and later made a visit to the air traffic control
It was the first flying experience for three cadets - Cameron
Service, 14, Matt Way, 14 and Elliott Bartlett, 15.
Elliott said afterwards: "What an amazing experience, I've
only ever been on a commercial airliner so flying upside down
was definitely a lot different! I cant wait for the next
The Air Experience Flight (AEF) provides the opportunity for
cadets to learn the theory behind the principals of flight and
also experience hands-on practical flight for 30 minutes.
