Burnham-On-Sea army cadets receive awards after busy year

Members of Burnham and Highbridge Army Cadet Force have this week been celebrating their achievements of the past year at their annual awards night.

There were numerous successes for the unit, from a whole range of activities including shooting, first aid, sports and the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.

Among the award winners were LCpl George Manchip (Cadet of the Year), LCpl Ben Rogers (Best NCO) and Rct Blackmore (Best Recruit). Five cadets were also presented with their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award badges.

Burnham and Highbridge Army Cadets are always looking for new recruits, and met from 7-9pm on Monday and Wednesday evenings. Recruits must at least be in year eight at school.
