90 year-old Burnham-On-Sea triathlete raises over £1,000 for charity

A sporty Burnham-On-Sea pensioner has this week handed over more than £1,000 to charity, having completed two fundraising triathlons.

90 year-old Arthur Gilbert presented £1,085 to The Musgrove Leukaemia Group - after collecting the money from sponsors following Burnham's April and June triathlons.

Maureen Hudson, who is the charity's Bridgwater representative, accepted the cheques and told "We are hugely grateful to Arthur for his incredible fundraising."

We reported here in April that Arthur had completed Burnham's triathlon - comprising a 250m swim, followed by a 10km bike ride and a 2.5km run - in a time of one hour, 20 minutes and nine seconds.
