Wet weather hits turnout at bandstand marathon concert in Burnham

-

Wet weather reduced the turnout of visitors at a special concert in Burnham-On-Sea on Sunday (September 25th).

Clevedon Brass Band, pictured, performed a concert in Burnham-On-Sea’s Manor Gardens as part of a nationwide bandstand marathon. However, the poor weather led to only a small number of visitors turning out to watch.

The Bandstand Marathon is being held as part of a ‘Cultural Olympiad’, which is designed to give everyone in the UK a chance to be part of London 2012 and inspire creativity. Burnham-On-Sea is among an estimated 150 venues across the country taking part this year.

The Burnham concert, which was sponsored by Burnham and Highbridge Town Council, was organised by Somerset not-for-profit music agency Superact.
