A marching band, majorettes and kung fu were some of the activities on display at Berrow’s action-packed summer fayre on Saturday (11th June).

The popular event – which was held on the village green – included displays by Highbridge’s Curtain Call Dance Group, Blue Sapphires Majorettes, Berrow’s Kung Fu group, Burnham’s Monarchs Gymnastic Team and the 93 Bath Squadron Air Cadets Band.

Co-organiser Lynn Smith told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The Fayre went really well and we were blessed with lovely weather. The arena events were popular and lots of people said how glad they were that the Fayre was being held on the Green again for the first time in many years. We are still counting the money raised and will let everybody know when we have a final figure.”

The Fayre was organised by the Berrow Community Association’s Entertainment Team and all proceeds went towards the Berrow Village Hall Project, which seeks to complete the refurbishment and extension of the Village Hall.

The team’s next big event is the ‘Gig on the Green’ which is being held on Berrow Village Green on Sunday, August 7th. Look out for more details nearer to the time here on Burnham-On-Sea.com.

They are also organising a Race Night on Saturday, July 9th. Call 792401 for details.
