Dozens of gift hunters flocked to Berrow’s festive market and craft fayre on Sunday (4th December), raising hundreds of pounds for the village hall.

Despite wet weather outside, the event drew a good-sized crowd to Berrow Village Hall, where 20 stalls were set-up selling a wide range of Christmas crafts and presents.

Father Christmas made a special appearance too and invited children to pick out a present from his bag of gifts.

The annual market was organised by Berrow Community Association’s Entertainment Team and all proceeds go to the Berrow Village Hall Project.

“It was a great morning and we’re delighted with the turnout,” one of the organisers, Lynn Smith, told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“It was another very successful fundraising event for Berrow Village Hall and it looks like we will have raised about £500.”

“Thank you to everybody who came along and to those who helped organise, set up and run the event. It was extremely busy in the café and huge thanks go to the cooks, servers and washer-uppers!”

The group’s next event is a New Year Supper Dance which is taking place in Berrow Village Hall on Saturday 28th January at 7pm. Tickets, to include music from local band ‘Triple Vision’ and a buffet supper, cost £12.50 and can be obtained from Lynn on 01278 793968.
