Dozens of classic American hot rods, trucks and classic vehicles thundered through Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge on Saturday (August 27th) during a mass convoy for charity.

Over 50 vehicles from the Blue Ridge Runners set off from the Oaktree Arena on the A38 at 12.30pm and then drove in procession to Burnham via the A38, Burnham Road and Marine Drive, passing along the seafront, before leaving via Love Lane.

“With horns blaring and a long line of vehicles on show, the procession attracted plenty of interest from interested onlookers,” a spokeswoman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

The vehicles are on show to the public throughout the weekend at the Oaktree Arena, the Somerset Rebels speedway track. This year’s event is raising money for two local charities, BARB and Somerset and Dorset Air Ambulance.

The Blue Ridge Runners were formed in 1989 to link up motoring enthusiasts from across the South West who own hot rods, trucks and other unusual vehicles. Saturday’s event was previewed by Burnham-On-Sea.com here.
