Burnham-On-Sea author Bob Thomas held a special book signing session on Saturday (October 29th) when his new publication exploring the town’s history went on sale.
As reported by Burnham-On-Sea.com here, Bob has compiled over 275 photographs of events, places and people for the new title, called The Book Of Burnham-On-Sea – A Record Of The Ebb and Flow Of A Somerset Seaside Town.
There was a steady flow of readers keen to snap up signed copies of the publication during Saturday’s session.
“There has been a lot of interest from people – and I have already received lots of positive feedback,” he told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
The large-format book features 160 pages and includes historic photographs, maps, drawings and illustrations.
In it, Bob recounts many incidents from Burnham’s past, reaching back to Arthurian legend, including a major naval battle, smuggling, piracy, shipwreck and murder. “It’s been wonderful to put together and it makes a great read,” he added.
Published by Halsgrove, the book is now on sale at £24.99 and can be bought online here via Amazon.co.uk or from GW Hurleys book store in The High Street.
