Rally organisers announce date of their 16th annual event

Organisers
of the annual Brean Stages Rally are gearing up for their 16th
annual event, which is set to roar into action during January
2012.
The K&R Mitsubishi Stages Rally will be held during the weekend
of January 28th and 29th.
The action-packed rally will be held entirely within the confines
of Brean Leisure Park and will see 85 rally cars tackle 12 special
stages over two days.
The rally, promoted by Club Rallysport West, will form the opening
round of the Association of South Western Motor Clubs and the
Cotswold Motor Sport Group Rally Championships.
The
event has been held every year since 1997 proves popular with
both competitors and spectators alike. Among the entries for 2012
will be drivers out to defend their 2011 championship titles who
hope to kick start the new championship year in winning style.
"The rally will contain a range of cars, from the ever popular
Ford Escorts, Vauxhall Novas, Corsas, and Peugeots,
through to the more exotic, state of the art World Rally Cars,
such as the Ford Fiesta and Focus, Subaru Impreza and Mitsubishi
Evos," organiser Rod McKenna told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
"Spectators will again be well looked after, with a covered
seated grandstand and heated al-fresco snacks available in the
spectator areas."
Spectators will be admitted to the park over both days for an
admission charge of £5 (accompanied children under 12 will
be free) and car parking will be £5.
The rally will be supporting two organisations, Dorset and Somerset
Air Ambulance and specialist motor sport rescue unit, West Country
Rescue. One of the supporting attractions over the weekend will
be a display stand representing The Dorchester based Clay Pigeon
Kart Club.
