Burnham-On-Sea Police issue warning following spate of burglaries

-

Police have warned residents in the Burnham-On-Sea area to be extra vigilant following a spate of burglaries over the past week.

Four break-ins have occurred where jewellery, cash and other valuables have been stolen.

Burnham Police believe the incidents could be linked and have urged residents to step up their security.

In the first incident, three burglars broke into a home in Apex Drive, Burnham and were disturbed by the owners and fled empty-handed.

A second break-in occurred in Alstone, Highbridge, where burglars entered a property by breaking a window and then taking valuables.

Two further break-ins have also occurred in Pawlett over the past week where windows have been smashed and valuables stolen.

Inspector Roger Tolley told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Our investigations are ongoing, but we do have suspicions that the incidents are linked.”

“We advise residents to ensure their homes are secure and that the properties look occupied even when they are actually empty. We would also ask residents to report anything suspicious.”
