Warning issued after two overnight burglaries in Burnham-On-Sea

-

Two homes in Burnham-On-Sea have been burgled during overnight attacks this week, prompting a fresh warning from police for residents to be extra vigilant.

Mobile phones, money and cash cards were stolen in the break-ins, which occurred on Monday and Tuesday.

In the first burglary in St Mary’s Road overnight on Monday (17th October), thieves entered a home through a shower window and took a bag containing cash cards and a phone.

A second burglary occurred on Tuesday (18th October) between 12.30am and 7am in St Paul’s Road. Entry was gained via an insecure downstairs window and a handbag containing credit cards, cash and a mobile phone was taken.

“People need to be vigilant, locking all windows and doors, and setting alarms if appropriate,” a Burnham Police spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

Residents who see anything suspicious – or have information about this week’s burglaries – should call the force’s new non-emergency number, 101, or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
