The head teacher of Burnham Infants School has been ‘recovering well’ in hospital this week following an accident.

Janet Sadiq was rushed to Weston General Hospital by ambulance last Wednesday after a serious accident in the school grounds.

A spokeswoman for Somerset County Council told Burnham-On-Sea.com this week: “We can confirm that the Head teacher of Burnham Infants was involved in an accident at the school and is in medical care and we wish her a full recovery.”

“We are working with the school to provide any support and assistance they may need during this time.”

Mrs Sadiq wrote in the school’s end-of-term newsletter: “I am very disappointed not to be in school for the end of this academic year, having had an accident. The hospital, however, are doing a very good job at patching me up.”
