Carnival won't move to Friday nights after all

concerns were raised regarding the change and this prompted a
understands the concerns include that the carnival carts would
jam up the A38 during daylight hours on a busy Friday; the number
of marshalls for a Friday would be greater than the current Monday
event; and the possible implications of more crime and disorder
on a Friday night.
Chairman Phil New said told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "I am extremely
disappointed that we haven't got the first Monday, but at least
a decision has been made following long discussions."
decision means that in 2012, Bridgwater Carnival will be held
on Saturday 3rd November, Weston will be on Friday 9th, North
Petherton will be on Saturday 10th, Burnham will be on Monday
12th, Shepton will be on Wednesday 14th, Wells will be on Friday
16th and Glastonbury will be on Saturday 17th.
year's Burnham carnival will be held on Monday November 7th.
