Burnham-On-Sea church to close for five months for refurbishment

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s catholic church will be close for five months from later in May to allow a major refurbishment project to proceed.

The ‘Our Lady and the English Martyrs’ church in Highbridge Road, pictured, will be closed from Monday 9th May when the work gets underway.

Spokesman Peter Leigh told Burnham-On-Sea.com that the church’s services will continue at other venues in the town.

“During the closure, our Saturday evening 5.30pm masses will be celebrated in St Andrew’s Anglican Church from 14th May onwards,” he said. “Our Sunday morning 11am masses will be in St Andrew’s Church Hall on Berrow Road from 15th May onwards, and weekday masses will be celebrated in the La Retraite Convent at 9.30am from Tuesday 10th May with Morning Prayer from 9.00am (entrance is through the gate in Oxford Street).”
