Burnham-On-Sea Xmas shopping night hailed a success
was among the shoppers who visited Burnham-On-Sea's inaugural
Christmas shopping evening, held on Friday (December 2nd).
40 businesses in Burnham town centre took part in the coordinated
late night opening until 9pm in an effort to attract people to
do their festive shopping.
Organisers hailed the event a success, despite wet weather reducing
the number of shoppers. "Many of the shops and businesses
who took part had a good evening," one of the organisers,
Phil Hemming, told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

are already being drawn up for a similar event in 2012."
Father Christmas dropped in during the evening, courtesy of Burnham
Lions, who had their charity collection float on display.
Burnham's Mayor and Mayoress were also among the shoppers, and
there was also live music by Burnham band Rustique outside GW
The initiative was trader led, with the support of Burnham Chamber
of Trade and Burnham Lions Club.
