Brave Burnham-On-Sea pensioner Dot Anderson has completed a daring fundraising parachute jump to raise £2,500 for three good causes.

The 71 year-old daredevil, who is a former Burnham nurse, completed the daring tandem jump with her nephew Michael while on a trip to her family in Australia over the past week, as pictured here.

Dot, who is Lady President of Burnham Moose Ladies Circle, has collected sponsorship of £2,500 for three local hospices.

She told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Fortunately, I’ve got a good head for heights but I’d never done anything like this before. It was an experience to remember!”

Sheila Fautley, Dot’s fundraising spokeswoman, added: “Age is no barrier for a fundraiser like this! Dot is a brave and courageous lady.”

The three beneficiaries are Charlton Farm Children’s Hospice, Weston Hospice Care and St Margaret’s Hospice Taunton. Dot is still seeking corporate sponsorship and hopes her final tally will rise.
