Daredevil pensioner gathers £2k of sponsorship for parachute jump

-

A daredevil pensioner from Burnham-On-Sea who is planning to do a fundraising parachute jump for charity has collected over £2,000 of promises.

Burnham-On-Sea.com reported earlier this year how Dot Anderson, 71, is planning to jump out of a plane in April during the daring feat.

She says she is delighted with the amount promised, but would like to raise at least £3,000 for her three supported charities – Charlton Farm Children’s Hospice, Weston Hospice Care and St Margaret’s Hospice.

As Dot continues to make preparations for the jump – which will be made in April during a trip to Australia – she has just handed over a cheque for £1,000 to St Margaret’s Hospice.

Dot, who is Lady President at Burnham’s Moose Lodge 123 ladies circle, has made the hospice her chosen supported charity for the year and the £1,000 was raised during the group’s various fundraising events.

Julie Draper, Community Fundraiser at St Margaret’s Hospice, said: “The kindness, generosity and support from Dot has been amazing and I am truly grateful for this donation. It was wonderful to collect the cheque and meet some lovely people. I wish Dot every success with her forthcoming fundraising Parachute jump!”
