Busy
summer of activities for Burnham Dreamscheme comes to end
Youngsters
from Burnham-On-Sea's Dreamscheme have ended their busy summer
of community activities with a well-deserved trip to a fun park.
The
42 members of Burnham Dreamscheme ended their hectic month of
community activities with a day trip to Crealy Adventure Park.
Leader John Alexander told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "Everyone
- including the volunteers - got wet and not just because it rained!
No-one got hurt or lost and everyone behaved themselves - in fact,
they were a credit to us all!"
"I
want to thank everyone for coming to Dreamscheme over the summer
and making it such a success. A massive thank you also goes to
all the volunteers because without their help none of this would
have happened."
Among the group's final activities for this summer were 36 members
designing, painting and mounting a tile collage with a seaside
theme on the wall of the Burnham Area Youth centre.
"The tiles were painted to an excellent standard but the
winners on the day were Ella and Chelsea, so a big well done goes
to them. Joe S, Joe C and Charlotte G all received their bronze
awards," added John.
Earlier
in August, the youngsters carried out two fundraising bag packing
sessions at Asda in Highbridge.
The funds were collected to help teenage water skier Toby Duggan
meet some of the costs of his trip to the World Championships
in Australia - as featured here.
They raised a huge £800 over the course of the two days.
