Fancy becoming a councillor in the Burnham-On-Sea area?

People wishing to stand for election as a district, town or parish councillor in the Burnham-On-Sea area have until April 4th to submit their nomination paperwork.

Notice of the election, which will take place on Thursday 5th May, has been formally published this week at the start of the nomination period.

Papers are available by contacting Sedgemoor District Council’s Electoral Services Team on 01278 435334 or by visiting the council offices at Bridgwater House in King Square, Bridgwater.

All submissions must be made by Monday 4th April at 12 noon. All new and re-elected district councillors are given a full induction, training and ongoing support.

Following the Boundary Commission’s recent review of boundaries, Sedgemoor District Council will have 48 councillor seats (previously 50) across 23 wards available to candidates.
