residents warned over Euro lottery scam
County Council has this week warned residents in the Burnham-On-Sea
area to be on the alert for a letter scam involving 'Euromillion
Somerset Trading Standards has received reports of letters being
posted to residents, informing them that they have won a large
amount of money.
"People are asked to fax through a completed form after
which you are invited to phone a number. At this point, you will
be asked to open an account to receive the winnings for which
there is a charge of several thousand pounds," county council
spokeswoman Elizabeth Kulh told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
