Burnham-On-Sea police are investigating a ‘deliberate’ van fire which occurred in Highbridge on Wednesday night (December 21st).

Fire crews from Burnham were called to Alexandra Court in Highbridge Quay at 8.34pm to reports of a blazing van.

“A fire engine from Burnham attended and found the cab of the van alight. Crews extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet,” a fire spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“The cab was damaged by fire and heat. The cause is believed to be deliberate ignition.”

Police were called to the scene and an investigation is underway regarding the cause of the incident.
