Burnham fireworks night collection raised over £2,000 for charities

-

Over £2,000 was collected for local charities during this month’s Burnham-On-Sea fireworks display, the organisers announced this week.

Members of Burnham Rotary Club, their partners and friends collected a total of £2,667 at the seafront display on 6th November.

Rotary organiser Bernard Raines told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “As the only official collectors for this event, under a Sedgemoor District Council Street Collection License, we were very pleased that the weather was so good for the event this year and we are grateful for the generosity of spectators.”

“We shall as usual be sharing the collected amount on a 60/40 basis with Burnham and Highbridge Town Council, which they use to support their nominated local charities for the year. Our share will be used to benefit local charities.”
