Fundraisers complete run between Brean and Burnham-On-Sea

-

This group of fun-loving fundraisers completed a beach run from Brean to Burnham-On-Sea on Thursday (July 21st) dressed in fancy dress.

14 youngsters from Highbridge’s King Alfred School are aiming to raise £14,000 to enable them to go on a once-in-a-lifetime educational trip to Morocco next year.

They held a car wash earlier in July and this was followed up by Thursday’s fancy dress run, pictured here.

One of the group, George Gay, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The run went really well and the weather was fantastic. It was warm all the way and some of us even got a bit sunburnt during the two-hour run.”

The group’s trip to Morocco next year will consist of ten days living out in the Sahara desert, trekking through the Torda gorge and experiencing what life is like in one of the most secluded places on Earth.

The group’s next event, on September 21st, will be a football match when a ‘celebrity’ team will take on Mr Owen’s XI from King Alfred School.
