jobs lost as Highbridge double glazing firm ceases trading
staff in Highbridge have lost their jobs following the closure
of a firm making double glazing windows.
Leigh Glazing had been trading on the Walrow Industrial Estate
since 1998 but has recently suffered from a fall in demand combined
with increased costs.
Fraser, spokesman for the administrators Grant Thornton, told
Burnham-On-Sea.com: "On 5th July Nigel Morrison and Alistair
Wardell of Grant Thornton were appointed administrators at William
Stewart Ltd and William Stewart Manufacturing."
"WSM traded as Hill Leigh Glazing and produced double glazed
windows and doors. The holding company was set up in 1998 and
traded on the Walrow Industrial Estate in Highbridge."
"All 11 staff have been made redundant and the company has
ceased trading. The administrators have instructed Edward Symmons
LLP to dispose of the assets, which comprise a freehold property
and plant and machinery. Those interested should contact Glen
Maxwell on 0117 927 3454."
