A familiar face behind the till of a Burnham-On-Sea hardware shop has this week clocked up a quarter of a century working at the store.
A surprise ceremony was held on Thursday (September 1st) for Darren Gibbons when he started his 25th year of employment at Home Hardware in Burnham High Street.
Home Hardware’s owner, Phil Hemming, marked the milestone by presenting Darren with a tankard to thank him for his loyalty.
Phil told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “He joined in 1986 and although he has been with us many years he is still affectionately known as the ‘young lad’ by a large majority of customers!”
“He has amassed a vast amount of knowledge of the hardware trade during this time.”
