Police reassure beach users after ‘indecent exposure’ incident

-

Burnham-On-Sea police arrested a man following an indecent exposure incident on the town’s beach earlier this week.

Officers were called to Burnham beach at 6.30pm on Monday (June 13th) after a boy reported that the man had exposed himself to him.

The man was arrested and held in custody while full enquiries were carried out. He was later released due to insufficient evidence.

Sgt Ian Kennett from Burnham Police told Burnham-On-Sea.com that beach users need not be concerned. “The man was of no fixed abode and was passing through the town – he does not live here and has moved on. This was an isolated, one-off case.”

“We always take incidents like this very seriously and immediate action is taken to fully investigate such cases.”
