Highbridge man sentenced to 12 years jail over rape

A Highbridge man has been jailed for 12 years after being found guilty of rape.

Michael Herbert Solomon, of The Poplar Estate, was arrested by Burnham Police after a sickening attack on a girl.

Solomon, 64, appeared at Taunton Crown Court over the past week, where he was found guilty of the rape of a girl under 13 and a separate charge of assault.

He must sign the Sex Offenders' Register indefinitely and will be prevented from working with young people on his release.
