Burnham-On-Sea runner's marathon fundraising reaches £10,000

Well-known Burnham-On-Sea runner Jason Vickers has this week achieved a major milestone by raising £10,000 for charity over the last five years.

Jason, who works at Burnham's Tesco supermarket, reached the huge sum during a collection at the store on Thursday (September 15th).

The plucky runner, who has suffered from Crohn's Disease for the past 17 years, is raising the cash for the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

He told this week: "I am very proud to have reached this goal and thank everyone for their support and kind words over the years. It's great to have raised £10,000 and don't intend to stop now."

Jason completed the the Great North Run on Sunday (September 18th) in a time of one hour, 58 minutes and 38 seconds - his fastest time.

He also ran the London Marathon earlier this year in a time of five hours and 51 minutes. He also completed the Bristol Half Marathon last weekend in a time of one hour, 56 minutes and 32 seconds - the sixth time he has taken part.
