Leading author and BBC broadcaster to speak in Burnham-On-Sea

Burnham-On-Sea Philosophy Group has announced that author and TV broadcaster Julian Baggini will be the guest speaker at its next monthly meeting.

Julian will attend May’s meeting in Burnham Community Centre at 7.30pm on Wednesday May 4th.

The author of many books of popular philosophy, including The Pig That Wants To Be Eaten, What’s It All About: Philosophy And the Meaning of Life, and Complaint.

He is also founder and editor of Philosophy Magazine and is a regular broadcaster on BBC Radio 4 and on TV shows such as BBC2’s Newsnight Review.

When he visits Burnham, he will be talking about his latest book The Ego Trick.

“To get a speaker of his calibre is a real coup for Burnham and a great chance to meet one of the UK’s most eminent philosophers and thinkers,” Burnham Philosophy Group’s Richard Franks told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“Julian is an entertaining and engaging speaker and has a talent for making philosophy accessible and relevant to everyday life.”
