Performance tables show 2% fall in results at King Alfred School

-

Highbridge’s King Alfred School has seen a slight fall in its GCSE performance over the past year, according to new government figures released on Wednesday (January 12th).

The Department for Education’s Performance Tables show 49% of pupils at the end of Key Stage 4 achieved five or more A* to C (and equivalent) including English and Maths GCSEs in 2010, while the figure was 51% in 2009.

The figure is slightly below the county wide average of 54% and the national average of 53%.

However, last year’s results at King Alfred School were up 10% on the 2008 figures – a marked increase – and up 6% on 2007.
