Young Burnham-On-Sea tennis player Megan Rundle has plenty of reasons to celebrate.

Megan, who plays at Burnham’s Avenue Tennis Club, has had a successful month, winning several Mini Red (Under 8, Grade 3) trophies and medals.

She has also taken both the Somerset Closed and the Somerset Open tournament titles at Taunton’s Blackbrook Tennis Centre in her age group.

Megan’s coach, Vinny Duddy, said she had played well in all her matches and he highlighted her serving and concentration, which had helped her make some powerful winning shots.

Megan’s father, Scott, said he was proud of how Megan had conducted herself on and off the court and added that she had proved herself very capable in the Mini Red Events, adding that she might find it more difficult in the near future as she moves up to Mini Orange Tournaments, which are aimed at 8–10 year olds.

“That said, I’m confident that her determination to succeed and her love of playing will be enough to see her improving her tennis and hopefully winning some more competitions at this level,” he added.
