Mini car festival set to be held in Brent Knoll on Sunday

-

Mini owners from across the South West will be displaying their vehicles at a charity event in Brent Knoll this weekend.

The Mini Show will take place at Sanders Garden World on Sunday (September 25th) from 11am until approximately 4pm in aid of Freewheelers Emergency Voluntary Service (Freewheelers EVS).

Peter Burks, General Manager of the garden centre, said: “We are really looking forward to hosting the Charity Mini Show at the garden centre. Mini owners will be able to display their vehicles and enter them to be judged in the show. Visitors will also have the chance to try out laser clay pigeon shooting.”

After the event, the mini owners will be invited to participate in an escorted Mini convoy through Cheddar Gorge.

Throughout the day there will also be laser clay pigeon shooting sessions at the garden centre (pictured below) and visitors will have the chance to have a go themselves.

There will be a bouncy castle for youngsters to enjoy, which will cost £1 for five minutes.

Visitors will be able to try water zorbing, where people can get inside a ball and walk on water. Water zorbing is suitable for people of all ages and costs £2.50 for five minutes.

All proceeds from the show are being donated to Freewheelers EVS, a registered charity that transports items on specially adapted motorcycles, which are equipped with blue lights and sirens for emergency use, from hospital to hospital in Somerset and beyond.

The charity’s Allan Roberts added: “This is the first time we have held a Mini Show at the garden centre. Anyone interested in displaying a vehicle at the event call me on 01278 789145 for further details.”
