A missing person was found on Brean beach this evening (Thursday, March 17th) after a big search operation.

The 23 year-old man in a ‘distressed’ state was reported to be missing at 6pm near Unity Farm Holiday Park, prompting a search of the beach and surrounding area by Burnham and Weston coastguards and local police.

Some 90 minutes into the search, the man was found in the dunes to the north of Brean’s beach car park. Paramedics treated the man at the scene before taking him to hospital by ambulance for further treatment.

A team of volunteers from BARB was also called to assist in the search.
