Hundreds of spectators flocked to Burnham-On-Sea’s Princess Theatre on Saturday (April 2nd) when the town’s DanceFit Club and Bay Club Dancers held two sell-out performances of a monopoly-themed dance show.

Almost 100 dancers took part in ‘Chance 2 Dance, A Monopoly Showcase’, which was the first show at the theatre since ownership of it transferred to Burnham and Highbridge Town Council last Friday.

Featuring different dance styles including contemporary, hip hop, street dance, tap, Latin and more, the show met its promise of transporting the audience around a dance-themed monopoly board.

“It all went extremely well, with both of Saturday’s shows being very well supported and packed out,” co-organiser Victoria Roberts told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“We had a cast of almost 100 dancers, varying in age from 3 years-old to adults in their 70s so we certainly spanned the age range and offered a variety of dance styles. They did really well and we’re so pleased with how it went.”

She added: “We hope to hold to more shows in the future, but nothing is planned for the moment. We’re taking a rest for a while.”
