Burnham-On-Sea’s Moose Lodge Governor, Arthur Thorogood, has this week chosen the group’s two local charities who will benefit from fundraising events during his year in office.

The group will be supporting Burnham and Highbridge Gateway Club and Burnham’s Community Centre over the next 12 months.

His announcement was made during a fundraising brunch held earlier this week where members of the Moose Ladies Circle staffed the kitchen and served up an endless supply of tea and coffee with bacon, sausage and egg baps. The funds were boosted by raffles and the sale of home-made cards and Christmas ornaments.

The guests at the event included Mayor Cllr Michael Clarke and his wife, Mayoress Maria Clarke.
